Jodi Robinson is Nashawtuc Architects newest employee. Along with being energetic and sometimes a bit nerdy, she has an impressive yet eclectic career history.
After working almost 20 years in the PC and Mechanical CAD field, Jodi decided to take a hiatus and raise three beautiful children. Being the energetic and driven person that she is, she also took this time to start her own business. With the help of friends and family, she renovated an old craft store into a very successful and lively dance aerobics fitness center. She was sole proprietor and lead instructor for almost 10 years.
Once the last of her children were in school full time, it was time to fulfill a life time dream and go back to school. While working fulltime, raising a family, and being active in her church, Jodi earned her degree in Interior Design.
During the time she was running a small but successful interior Design business, Jodi was asked by a friend to “help” with AWAB, a national non-profit that advocates for equality. With more and more time being invested into advocacy, she once again put her design career on hold to become their full time Communications Coordinator. During the next six years she traveled nationwide as a spokesperson for AWAB, assisted the director in running the organization’s headquarters, and created a successful PR campaign. One of Jodi’s proudest moments was when she was granted the Barbra MacNair Award in 2015.
In 2015 Jodi felt it was time to reenter the world of design and took the position of Office Manager/Interior Designer at Nashawtuc Architects. She is often the first welcoming face you see when you visit or the first friendly voice you hear when you call. Jodi implements her diverse skill set to manage the office, lead public relations/advertising, and contribute creatively utilizing her background in Interior Design.
When Jodi isn’t working, she enjoys time with her 3 children and 2 grandchildren, kayaking with her husband Wayne and sweet pup Ollie or kicking back with good friends. Even now, Jodi likes to take on new adventures such as skydiving, white water rafting, and scuba diving. She has been quoted as saying “I will sleep when I die”.
“In the 2 years I have worked with Jodi I have felt that every step of the way, her desire was to support the Nashawtuc team and assist our clients. She is never afraid to offer her suggestions or expertise. I appreciated her enthusiasm and commitment! In short…there is no job to big or to small; she is always ready to help!”
